Can you run Sekiro Shadows Die Twice?
By John Hussey March 20, 2019
The creators of the Dark Souls series and Bloodborne launched a new game called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It follows the same trend as those games with next-to-impossible boss fights and extremely rewarding combat but is set in 1500s Sengoku, Japan. It is your duty to protect a young lord, but with that duty comes many dangers. Dispatch your enemies with an arsenal of prosthetic upgrades and precise ninja abilities. Prepare to explore this dark and haunting world in stunning detail with the correct PC that meets or exceeds the system requirements.
The developers of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice decided to lock the max FPS at 60 to ensure a smooth combat experience across a wider range of computers. Its minimum system requirements are actually comparable to that of Bioware’s Anthem but its CPU requirements are a bit tamer. Specifically, your PC needs an i3-2100 or AMD FX-6300 alongside something like a GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon HD 7950. At the very least, your computer should also have 4 GB of system RAM in order to run Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice smoothly on at least Low settings. Last but not least, your computer also needs a 64-bit OS (Windows 7, 8, or 10).
If you want to get the most out of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, then you’ll need a home computer that exceeds the recommended system requirements. There’s only about a two generation jump from the minimum system requirements to the recommended requirements so a decent amount of new computers should still be in the green. The recommended GPU requirement of a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 570 is pretty much the industry standard these days when it comes to triple-A titles. Games like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Apex Legends have similar requirements when looking at the video card category. At the time of release, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also requires 25 GB of free space on your drive in order to install.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice might be one of the most difficult games to release in 2019, but hopefully its system requirements will be considered a little easier to pass since its popularity has sky-rocketed. Take the test, make sure your computer can run Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and prepare for the experience of a lifetime.
